ok, a short review of me VFFs (I bought the KSOs by the way)

Part 1 (off-topic a bit):
woke up before sunrise,felt mighty proud of myself (my dad tot i stayed up the whole nite).went to causeway p0int for breakfast,then slowly made my way to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve.why?cuz when I bought my KSOs, the sales guy told me he went trail running at LCK area, so i was interested to know where. so i went to www.mapmyrun.com to look for a green patch on the map.And found SBWR to be somewhat near LCK area,so had considered visiting the reserve then run to LCK for a run.the reserve was boring for me (not a nature/bird/photog fan),so i just walked around quickly and smoked out.and chickened out of my running-to-LCK-area plan (1st time wearing the 5fingers,i tot i shouldn't do any crazy distances).so.took MRT to CCK for more food,then took bus to the end of LCK road at the police coast guard base.


Part 2 LCK run (about 8k):
walked around the place a bit, trying to remember the academic stuff when i went on a field trip to a nearby stretch of (dirty) beach for a WW2 history class. nope,din ring a bell. neway started running LCK road.made a few small detours, 1 to buy 2 small bottles of choc goats milk for the road. passed the entrance to sarimbun camp, passed a road which is supposed to lead to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve (but din explore,cuz,no crazy distances,remember?), passed the entrance to Sungei Gedong camp,passed the old Ama Keng village,passed the 'green island' on the road...ah,the memories..neway the shaded parts (Sungei Gedong camp area) were pretty ok,just run on pedestrian path or side of the road.but it was eewily hot once i reached the long-stretch-of-road-that-doubles-as-emergency-runway part (that was about 1pm).so.plonked my way to the cemeteries at the end of LCK road,then bwey lun n took bus back to JP for more food.

Part 3 The actual review of the KSOs:
Running in the 5fingers is supposed to give ur feet more feedback than traditional shoes, considering the thin-ness of the soles.then again, i have done a bit of barefoot runs around my neighbourhood,so the feedback while running in VFFs din exactly rock my world.having said that,u will feel e small pebbles/rocky areas that u step on. Traction isn't very good on smooth,wet surfaces (e.g. toilet floor),but other than that shd b ok.the mesh upper layer oso meant cooler feet. I tried the VFF flow before i settled on the KSOs - wearing them in Sgp (with direct sunlight) would be too hot for the feet.

neway.my toes kinda point outwards a little, so it was a hassle putting the VFFs on. size-wise i tink i got the correct size,but only my big toe could fill the shoe's toe pocket. the other toes were a bit short.plus,even at the start of my run i could feel that the VFFs were abit too tight, length-wise - my big toes felt abit squeezed. halfway thru the ewwily hot part of LCK road i felt blisters developing at the sides of my feet, near the arch area.but maybe is cuz the VFFs haven't season yet.time will tell.











Post-Run thoughts:
I bloody respect the foreign (i tink) workers, whom I passed along the eewily hot part of LCK road.they were exiting their workplaces (din notice wat), and were walking northwards (no bus service, 975 goes into Old LCK road past the camps) in the heat. So i was like running along a bloody hot stretch of road just to c how its like. They had to walk along that road to get home/get anywhere.Sucks.

woke up yesterday morning with a heavy head.rushed everything and bia'd to maju,behaved like a noob on the way in,statics were a blur,running was shitty,rushed outta the place,had bf,rushed home,nua'd for 30min,washed up and rushed outta the house,went exploring to GH,popped by in office,rushed off to choir,did the 2 songs that we learnt, got reiterated everything we lost,went to je nua,went qw wanting to buy sth but decided against it,took bus to work-neighbourhood,water paraded,walked to t1mbre,sat down,ate salad while waiting for tardy feng - t1ng was down wif sth so she had to fly plane..had everything i say/do picked apart,but everything was cool.i get an inkling of how some of my frens may feel.anyway.g00dfellas played, and entertaining as usual,but i realise i dun know 70% of the songs they play.old fart?nah~juz not very mainstream :) and obviously not missing out on the radio stuff.noted a coupla things-that oct must b a great time for fucking,cuz damn many people born in jun;kids these days are bleeding rich.so,stayed for the whole gig (place thinned out early enough,bad economy?), talk/gossip/bitch'ed,surprised by the bill (though i shudn't be) and cabbed home.aaaand on the way was asked question i have no answer for.despite years of awareness of the question.still no ivers0n.wow,i am that old.so.woke up this morning to a heavy head and dry throat.rushed out to NL,pretended to look busy a while,lunched,tempted to go buy sth but decided against it,went back to NL.coupla hours went by,and its food time again.tried going back to office to scan sth,but couldn't access,and in no mood to try harder.went to han's instead,booked ippt,whined a bit,scanned some of the stuff,read the papers,watched some tv and was delivered home.

so,was thinking about the question to which i have no ivers0n,and am horrified.ok,too much.concerned.i really drift.and that's not good,unless its done in some heavily-zng'd japanese car.

rammstein, ohne dich

did the usual car0lling at sicc,and mar1na mandar1n.suite was a blast,though it was kinda overkill since so few of us stayed.neway,wii's a real workout.on x'mas day,got stuck in a lift at sicc.lucky i was standing where the air was coming in,otherwise i'd have fainted.

went to legend's on nye.the girls couldn't make it,yan left early.played silly game and drank.then went home to crash.sent a pretty bastard-sounding msg, and for a while it could have been a shithole.well luckily it turned out ok.luckily.

met up with feng n ting on fri,went to pau|aner brahau5 after dinner.cuz t1mbre was full.at both substati0n & arts h0use,kns.the live band was pretty ok though.good meet-up.feng is enjoying her work,although it gets pretty shitty.doubt i'd ever handle this kinda life.or rather,i dun wanna find out.still.stories of young wannabe kidults were entertaining.maybe i should check it out sometime.hmm...nah~

met up with ken,yant1ng and liy1 on sat,went to br0tzeit after lunch.i think i ordered the exact shit i did the previous night.neway j1awen,hua1zh1 and ir1s joined up later.talked awhile,mostly about how nusch0ir is now.then we all split.i went freeneasy walking,stopped by kino awhile and headed home for some krat0s-slashing.how i missed/needed it.still,i wonder why i so readily said ok when ting jio'd.i mean,i must have known right?stupidity i guess.understatement.

stayed home and nua'd the whole sun away.only redemption was the very short run i did.pissy mood,hence the run despite persistent coff.i should branch out.

if i had money to burn,i'd have gotten a shrink.but,give it time and i think the bugger would end it like t0dd did/plans to do al.even i find the story stale.same punchline after years?i need my head in the right place.and a game plan.and something to burn off some of the fanger.or maybe i just need an out.or a compass.

aftermath

hmm,aftermath..should i want more?i should be able to feel pretty happy with 203,considering the lack of proper preparations..still,its so close to a sub2,tsk...neway just read some threads on the forum,can understand the pissed-off-ness of having a blockade in front of the end..but oso reminded of the nonsenseness of some people.o well..plan to do HM then FM next year ba.plan.

1st carolling gig this year was pretty ok...need to work on the songs more though..

lost my interest in f0rce unleashed.chains 0f 0lympus still good though..mirr0r's edge is fun.maybe i'll get to play it next year.or the year after next,hah.

pineapple xpress and zack n miri are funny.wat else is there?hmm...

legs still sour on d-day+2.i prob lack animal proteins.as an alterative,i want (the long) tights..x'mas present~~!! oops,speaking of which,still owe meng his reefs.and mag her card.i'm in debt. :(

6 weeks...

went for l0ckhart's dinner on friday evening, attendance - j0hn, d0cm0k, y0ngxi, edgar, b0bby, zo0, naj1b, pau|, gu0yi, ca|eb, s1da, and gnap. after dinner, few of us stayed behind at starbux to tokcock..seems zo0 is real popular in school,ha..hopefully its not a psycho chick..mostly reminisce about the old days..and how old we are now,ha..wen weekends are spent, increasingly regularly, attending wedding dinners..n bitching about people. neway saw a few of zo0's vids on utube,super bo liao..only those group of people can do this kind of shit..talked more about stalkerx, 'i agree', and chinese-speaking-elite.the idiocy of some people (the elite) is amazingly funny..

neway saw week0k last fri at imm,wen we met for meng's dinner..he's married to someone from rulang s well-din recognize her..biang,meng n i lost for words wen he told us he was with his wife..neway,i realize we dun really noe many people from other classes..

bought another pair of shoes (planning to claim from ah gong). stupid, should have claimed the other pair..me, please remember that i'm a size 9.and realized that its about 6 weeks to the run, and i'm waaay~ too ill-prepped. hmm...should i do wat i should?

the week past

been an interesting week..attended pr0f L's talk at acm on tue,saw doc mok,yuhan,etc,had dinner with L. met up with ting and yuefeng on wed for dinner,talked,kopi'd,got stuck in the train.not as interesting as it might've sounded,that last part..fri,met someone rather interesting.worldview,life experiences,etc.went for cv mtg on sat,had loadsa discussion on fundamental issues.which remain unresolved.still,it shook everyone outta lethargy or sth.dinner at thaixpress (again) at esplanade,watched fireworks after.more kopi-ing at suntect starbux.hmm..never quite made the connection earlier,but now that i tink about it..athena!apollo!

sun was spent lazing around and sleeping, mostly cuz of the rain.but watched the US-Spain match.Spain is good,esp Fernandes and Rubio.and the price of lazing around is...waking up in a bloody panic trying to clear stuff.

this is pretty shitty.almost forgot how it was like the previous.still,it'll pass.

saw mia0xian yesterday at funan, had lunch together and talked abit.nice.
my phone plunged headfirst into milk last night.as if the rust isn't problem enough -.-
finished cr00ked little vein-funny,pretty ('haha') sick stuff inside.until i find out its not all invention.guess that's the appeal about ellis and ennis.
looking forward to new albums from slipkn0t, metallica and trivium.

hmm...tot of taking day off today,then half day,then gave up on the idea completely..just not worth the headache..neway,read a coupla days back that m1ke +urner passed away.tsk, thought he was getting better,but..

surprisingly,i managed to book 1ppt this month..strange,i thought there was a buffer period between windows or sth.well.gotta do better than the last time.should have sth to eat before i go this time.hmm...or maybe i should just lay off,in case i slacken off for the next 1 year.need spread out the spending of the money too.

hmm...saw a very ang-moh accented doc yesterday..who told me that i have OA,n basically i get the impression that i should just live with it. which kinda sux..then went for a short physio session, which i doubt i'd be able to consistently do at home,pui.. the physiotherapist seems a really happy person though..her colleague too..neway silver lining, i can run again. i just have to live with the creakings.and probably with the shitload of pain that comes with the wear n tear if i grow old enough. lets guess how i hope things turn out. hmmm.....

spent eve at song's, had dinner, drank a lil', played some games.nice and quiet (kind of). woke up to 2008, feeling fresh and optimistic.great new morning to a great new year!and great it was.took a cab to office cuz had to lug alotta stuff back.left my phone in the cab AFTER cabby reminded me to check for things left behind (and i did).well.black pouch is good camou.its all about the contents.why doesn't nokia make MI-style phones?neway.did some work, threw dinner away cuz the micr0wave didn't seem to work, prayed (a lot) whenever i went for a piss (pretty often) cuz building is juz damn creepy. and,by the end of the day, only managed to finish (most of) 1 thing.the rest is all kaput.dammit.shud prep to clean ears tomorrow.and the trip's in a fortnight.and everything is so...unconfirmed.life's great.

tiring.after concert came all the carolling.erm,then haven't been productive for work at all.neway.went for shopping spree last fri with han and j0li.seems ch0ir is at a crossroad now.dunno la,see how things go.been spending quite a lot (by my standards) on booze (getting to understand u better,0pt).drinking meself broke.in order to...feel just as crappy as i usually do?hmm..oh well,like the g00dfellas,but the drinks are getting boring.dun see much time for drinks anyway.erm...wat else?oh right.been stupider than usual (even by my standards) recently.maybe due to lack of proper sleep.like,really.stupid.like,bought-a-portable-hdd-to-backup-stuff-in-order-to-reformat-lappie-but-ended-up-formatting-portable-hdd-and-in-the-process-losing-every-fucking-thing-i-had-backed-up-and-many-of-the-stuff-are-non-retrievable stupid.and the amount of phasing i do,i should be pryde.or maybe with the amount of remembering i do,i should be prodigy.but he remembers all stuff,i only useless.i suppose i always did have a soft spot for alt.(off the point-but then,alt is relative to the mainstream.)

took off for the day to go shopping.after checking my list,realized that quite jialat ar,din even manage to get half of wat i planned to. oh well, sour legs take priority. then saw clarabe||e later in the evening at the cathay, she gonna be a writer!sounds exciting.yawn.i started the day saying sian and i ended the day exactly.shite.its a season thing.repeat till sounds convincing.i hope boozing for The Party is gonna be on fri,if on sat then i gotta regulate liao :( anyway today session not as bad as previous 2 - legend think sits his credit, but i think its just the sound system,ha..4 more days, and its over.endofyears are usually bad seasons for me.hmm,sounds like this year's an exception, which it's not.neway kinda found out the reason for apparent scandal.doesn't seem like much to me leh.oh well.
after the tok with gnap the other nite,think not very wise ar.reariew mirror more than usual.season isn't helping.neither is the crowd.hmm...
